How Paid Surveys Work
Everyday Marketing Research companies that are hired by large corporations are looking
for consumers, people like you and me, to give their unique opinions about products
and services to help them improve their products and launch new ones. These companies
need our opinion to understand their market and are willing to pay good money for
this.
I receive between 10 and 50 surveys everyday that are looking for my opinion about
products like clothing, food, drinks, videogames, software, household products,
etc. There are many quick surveys that will pay you $1 to $3 and will take you less
than 5 minutes to fill out, but there also great surveys that can pay you $75 for
30min of your time. You also get the chance to preview new products and services
before these are released.

Important Tips for Taking Surveys
Step 1. Get a New Email Address Just for your Surveys.
The different market research companies will notify you of the new surveys available
via email, depending on how many companies you signed up for you will be receiving
a between 10 to 50 emails a day.
To keep your personal email inbox clean and to prevent missing any important surveys
notifications we recommend creating a new email account just for this purpose.
You can sign up for a FREE email account from
Hotmail, Yahoo or Gmail. We personally use GMAIL since it has great email
tools and offers over 6 Gigabytes of storage, which is a lot of space for your emails.
Step 2. Get an Automatic Tool to Fill Out Forms.
The Registration process to sign up with the all the different companies that provide the surveys
can be very time consuming, you have to register with the companies you're interested
in. Once you register, they will contact you with new survey opportunities as these
become available.
In order to make the registration process easier and faster, it's very important
that you get an automatic form filling tool. These tools will store your information
on your computer and automatically fill out registration forms entering the common
information like name, phone, address, etc.
We recommend RoboForm, a software that cuts down the time it takes to register
with marketing companies, complete forms, and fill out surveys. It also remembers
the usernames and passwords from your different accounts.

RoboForm does not work on MAC computers. There is also a very simple AutoFill tool
included with the Google Toolbar,

Step 3. Register with the Market Research Companies.
You'll be registering with the "Market Research Companies", these are the ones that hired by large corporations to do marketing studies, conduct the surveys
and focus groups in their behalf.
Your success with the online surveys will depend mainly on how many market research
companies you get registered with, and on your profile with each one of these companies, this determines the amount
and type of survey invitations that you get.
The more market companies that you get registered with the more survey invitations you will receive; the more
surveys you can take, and the more money you will make. Currently I'm registered
with more than 150 different survey companies and every day I get more invitations than what I can handle.
Now I just "pick and choose" the best ones.
After the registration process with a market research company, you'll find various questions
that are meant to make up your personal profile, with this information they'll match you up with the
particular surveys. Many of these surveys are
general, but some are actually very specific. A company may be looking for the
opinions of men between the ages of 29-40 about the different types of beer. If you're not within this age range or if you're a
women, then you won't be selected to take this survey. We suggest providing as much
information as possibly, this will give you the best chances of getting
selected for paid surveys.
Step 4. Check your Email Daily and Take Surveys.
Be sure to check your email often, and act quickly! The companies will often send
out more invitations than they need participants, because they know some people
won't respond for one reason or another. But once they have enough people, the survey
will be closed.
Most of the surveys start with some screening questions to make sure that you match
the profile of their targeted market. You need to be careful with the first couple
questions if you want to qualify for the survey.
For Example, if the survey is a "Survey about Beer" and the first question is "Do
you Drink Beer?", answering NO to this question will automatically disqualify you
for this survey. Same with questions like "How often do you drink beer?" or "How
many beers do you drink in a month?", you need to make sure that your answer matches
what this company is looking for.
Since these companies are looking for unbiased answers, there will be a question
to confirm that you're objective, this questions will be in the form of "Do you
or any relative work for a Marketing company?" or in the case of the "Beer", "Do
you or any relative work for a Beer company?". Answering Yes to this type of question
will be the end of your survey.
At the end of each survey you will have some demographic questions like Gender,
Age, City, etc. Make sure you answer these questions, you might also need to provide
your email address or mailing address if there is the need to mail you any products
or information.
Step 5. Get Paid.
The best part is to get paid for the surveys. You won't get paid immediately after
answering the survey, this is done once the survey has been completely closed, so
it could take around 2 weeks to get paid for the surveys, but once you take surveys
on a daily basis and you have payments being made every week this won't be a problem.
Some companies might have a payment threshold, so the payment won't be send until
you achieve a specific balance on your account (i.e. $20).
Companies will either mail you a check to your address or pay you via a Paypal Account
(Click here to get a Paypal account).
In addition to cash, there are also many companies that will pay you with products,
with some of these you can win points which you can later redeem for prizes.
If you only want to take surveys that pay cash that's ok; but we also suggest you
consider surveys that pay in products, prizes, and sweepstakes entries. A short
5 minute survey is well worth it to be entered into a $5,000 sweepstake.
